Gumboot Pictures present Small Town Folk

Back in November 03 Peter Stanley-Ward started shooting a short film, entitled Small Town Folk. The film was to act as a promotional short to get funding for a feature production. However, in easter 04 Peter Stanley-Ward and Natalie Conway (writer, producer) decided that the short was looking so good that, with a re-write, it could quickly become a feature length movie in it's own right.
Now it's in post-production, but the guys had time to show a trailer or two at the recent Cannes film festival, where they went down really well. Keep your eyes peeled for more news about this one soon.
Here's a quick rundown of the plot, taken from their website http://www.smalltownfolk.co.uk/.
"A young photographer takes a bike ride through the forest... Two naïve newly weds are on an adventure road trip... Together they find themselves in the land of Grockleton, where the colourful inhabitants seem friendly and all too eager to please. But as time passes by, things change. In Grockleton there is an ancient tradition... A hunting game... with an unsuspecting prey!
Gumboot Pictures presents ‘Small Town Folk’, a thrilling adventure through a nail-biting world of traps and surprises, thrills and spills, which will keep the audience on the very edge of their seats. "

Dan Palmer, who plays Onkey in the soon to-be-released low-budget classic, Freak Out!, also appears here as Dobbin Beesley, a member of the movies notorious Beesley family.
