A new website (see here) has just been launched for this week's release of Neil Marshall's The Descent, and it's a pretty cool site too. As well as a competition to win a survival weekend, there's also a nice flash 'game' where you get to explore (try to escape from) a cave, and the usual trailer and production notes.
The Descent is Neil Marshallís hotly anticipated follow up to Dog Soldiers, and we here at eatmybrains strongly believe it to be one of the best British horror films of recent years (read our review of The Descent here). It tells the story of an all female caving expedition that goes terrifyingly wrong in a cave system deep in the Appalachian Mountains. When an unexpected rock fall blocks the exit, the six girls soon find themselves hunted by a race of fearless, hungry predators, once humanoid but now monstrously adapted to live in the darkÖ
The Descent stars Shauna Macdonald, Natalie Mendoza, Alex Reid, Saskia Mulder, Nora-Jane Noone and MyAnna Buring and was filmed on location in Scotland and at Pinewood Studios. The film is released in UK cinemas on July 8th 2005.
2nd Mar 05 This movie involves a lot of talking and a lot of walking around, opening doors, then walking a bit further, opening another door, then wiping off dirty hands, then perchance a glimpse of nudity with no follow-through.
