New pics from The Cave appear online
3rd Aug 05
With The Descent proving that an effective horror film can be made from the concept of cave-diving, hopes are high for The Cave which is released in UK and US cinemas on August 26th.
The film (official tagline: There are places man was never meant to go) was directed by Bruce Hunt (who was a Second Unit director on Dark City and The Matrix trilogy) and stars Cole Hauser, Morris Chestnut, Eddie Cibrian, Daniel Dae Kim, Rick Ravanello and Piper Perabo.
Visit Comingsoon to view the complete gallery of 23 images from the film.
Visit the official site at www.sonypictures.com/ to see the trailer, which admittedly, looks pretty damn fine with some great footage of cave diving, little squiggly Deadly Spawn creatures, and glimpses of a far more vicous beast..
More Information
he film takes place deep in the Romanian forest, where a team of scientists stumble upon the ruins of a 13th century Abbey built over the entrance to a giant underground cave system.
Local biologists believe the cave could be home to an undiscovered eco-system, so they hire a group of American cave-explorers to help them investigate its depths including Jack (Cole Hauser) and his brother Tyler (Eddie Cibrian).
After arriving in Romania with all the latest equipment, including a new type of scuba tank allowing a diver to remain submerged for up to 24 hours, the crack unit, which also includes Charlie (Piper Perabo) and Buchanan (Morris Chestnut), immediately begin their exploration. But what they find deep inside the caves is not just a new eco-system, but an entirely new species altogether.
