More zombies in Severed trailer

 Zombies, zombies and more zombies. With the many, many zombie films coming out over the past and next few months to coincide with Romero’s return to the genre (DOTD2, Dead Meat, , Zombie Honeymoon, Flight of the Dead, Risen and ROTLD 4 and 5 to name but a few), it’s going to take a lot for a new zombie film to get some attention.
Thankfully, Carl Bessai’s new film Severed has done just that with a new trailer released online over at Twitch Film. Known mainly for making family dramas, Bessai’s zombie flick looks to be several steps ahead of it’s nearest undead rivals, with some stunning visuals and (more importantly) some genuinely creepy looking shufflers.
Shot on location in British Columbia, Severed tells the story of a logging experiment gone wrong as a genetically engineered (this must be horror’s modern day theme!) growth hormone used on trees gets into the human population with horrific results.
Recently screened at Screamfest, Severed stars Leanne Adachi, JR Bourne, Sage Brocklebank and Paul Campbell. No word yet on any wide release date.
