Jeff Brookshire's Awaken the Dead aims high as it hopes to expand the parameters of indie horror much in the way Shaun of The Dead did. Awaken the Dead is a cleverly scripted zombie film about a rouge priest with a dark and violent past thrown into the middle of a government conspiracy that tests his convictions and his survival abilities. Filled with humor, edgy action and rock and roll sensibilities, this latest offering from Silver Strom Productions has great cult potential. The film stars Gary Douglas Kohn (Almost Famous), Lindsey Morris, Nate Witty, Michael Robert Nyman, Paul Dion Monte (Rocky Balboa), Big Will Harris (Be Cool) and a cast of hundreds.
