Diamond Dead fully funded and filming in the UK?
6th Jun 04
Well.. a few juicy tidbits of information are slowly leaking out from the production crew over at www.diamonddead.com.
Producer Andrew Gaty has been regularly posting diary entries and responding to member questions (along with George A. Romero and all other production members) and it now seems that things are close to being locked and loaded.
Posting today in the Latest Dirt section, Andrew Gaty writes:
"I am happy to report that we have found the balance of the finacing! It appears that we are fully funded. All it remains is the paperwork, wich is quite substantial.
We are seriously into casting the main role. Please forgive me, but until this is settled, I have been asked not to post details. One of our choices has accepted and we are checking on this with our financing partners. Suffice it to say that it was from one of your suggestions.
I am committed to post all the detail, but please bear with me for a little longer.
Thanks for your continuing support."
And then, responding to a member's question concerning the possibility of a role for Richard O'Brien (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Gaty writes:
"It looks like that we will be shooting in the UK, so Richard O'Brien will definitely be in the movie."
So, is Diamond Dead fully funded, with lead cast attached and ready to shoot in the UK? Register at the site for all the up-to-date latest news, competition prizes (including the chance to get a walk-on role in the film) and news of upcoming online discussions by visiting www.diamonddead.com.

More Information
Good news also for Shaun of the Dead and Simon Pegg fans. Responding to a fan's suggestion a couple of days ago that the Shaun writer and actor would be perfect for Diamond Dead, Gaty responded with:
"Simon Pegg is a good idea, particularly if we end up shooting it in the UK."
