The Sun-Drenched, peaceful bank of the Han River....
Gung-du (SONG Kang-ho) walks out to the riverbank to deliver some squid, when he falls among a chattering crowd that witneses a strange spectacle. A never-before-seen 'something' is hanging from the Han River Bridge, and moving.
The fascinated people start taking shots with their phones and digital cameras... until the 'thing' climbs up onto the riverbank and begins to crush and eat them. Gang-du runs madly with daughter Hyun-seo (KO A-sung) in tow, only to lose her amid the milling, screamiing crowd.
Panic-stricken, he has just enough time to witness the mind-shattering sight of the creature snatching Hyun-seo and disappearing back into the river.
8th Jun 04 The film opens with a very similar voiceover narration to the original (see Trivia) but with different footage as we tour the furnace room, all fingernail scratches and blood-clotted hair, of the Hewitt residence.
