Masters of Horror Season 1 now all available on DVD

 Some people rate them, some really slagged them off, but whatever you think of Mick Garris’ Masters of Horror collection, you’ve got to admit that it’s such a great idea. Well now the complete first season is available in 2 DVD box sets, so you can go and judge for yourself! And, of course, both sets come packed with behind the scenes extras and special features, so you’d really be crazy to miss out on this opportunity.
Admittedly, Volume 1 came out near the end of last year and in all the frenzy of Christmas we let this one slip, but we’re telling you all about it now so better late than never, eh? And to make up for it we’re also going to be giving away a copy of the volume 2 box set in a competition closer to the set’s release date.
So keep your eyes open for that one, and in the meantime how good is your French accent when you say “La Fin Absolute du Monde”?
Season One – Volume 1 Out now
 Cigarette Burns
Jimmy Sweetman ventures out to locate a rare film print called “La Fin Absolue du Monde”. The film, only every shown once, drives its audience into a crazed frenzy before the theater goes up in flames. He finally discovers that the film does live up to its reputation. Look out for the guy who’s been writing his review all his life, and check out every actors attempt to say “La Fin Absolue du Monde” in the most convincing French accent.
Dreams in the Witch House
Walter Gilman, a college student, rents a loft in a building in the New England town of Arkham. While studying inter-dimensional string theory at college he is haunted by nightmares of a 17th century witch and her rat with a human face. Soon he’s up to his eyeballs in strangeness and must prevent the death of his neighbour’s baby while simultaneously trying not to become a murderer himself.
Incident On and Off A Mountain Road
Based on Joe R. Lansdale's short story, this film pits Ellen (Bree Turner), a defenseless young woman a deformed woodland serial killer. But is Ellen as defenseless as she seems and what is Angus Scrimm doing tied up in the killer’s basement?
Chocolate
Jamie jobs deals with artificial flavours in the food industry but soon starts to feel experiences of a mysterious woman with whom he has never met.
Sick Girl
Sick Girl is a comedy thriller about an insect scientist and the fly in the ointment that threatens her lesbian love affair. Any of you out there that have scene May will know what to expect.

Dance of the Dead
This story revolves around a post-apocalyptic town where re-animated corpses of friends and enemies dance on stage for the few people who survived a nuclear holocaust. Peggy a naïve girl learns of the dangers of the outside world and the sacrifices made to guarantee her survival. Look out for Robert Englund making the most of the night club host role.
Fair Haired Child
A 13 year old is kidnapped and locked in a basement by a scary couple with their younger son. During there incarceration in the basement the two children develop a special relationship, but as the night progresses things get creepier and creepier.
Pick Me Up
This bloody tale will give you an interesting twist to hitchhiking. What would happen if a serial killer that kills hitchhikers picks up a hitchhiking serial killer? Find out here.
Haeckel's Tale
Based on Clive Barker's short story. While on his way to see his sick father, Ernest Haeckel takes shelter with an elderly man and his young wife but soon discovers that everything is not as it seems.
Imprint
An American journalist in 19th century Japan is hoping to find the love he left behind. His long search leads him to a dark island where the only sanctuary is a brothel. Spending the night with a rather interesting woman, he learns that maybe some things are better off left in the past.
