Full details of the Region 2 Hatchet DVD, out on 28th January

 One of our favourite films of last year (read our review of the film from it's screening at FrightFest here, Adam Green's laugh-filled and gore-splattered Hatchet, finally comes to DVD (£19.99) and 'download to own' on 28th January courtesy of Universal Home Entertainment, so if you haven't yet acquainted yourself with the legend that is Victor Crowley, then now's the time to do it.
Visceral and unrelenting, Hatchet is writer / director Adam Green’s blood-soaked love letter to the slasher film genre, packed with the devastating combination of comedy and absolute gore-driven mayhem. Oh, and lots of nudity too...
Starring Joel David Moore (Dodgeball), Deon Richmond (Scream 3), the beautiful Tamara Feldman (Perfect Stranger) and Mercedes McNab (Buffy The Vampire Slayer), Hatchet also boasts a stellar supporting cast of iconic genre veterans including cameos from Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Tony Todd (Candyman), and Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project) and starring the legendary Kane Hodder (Jason) as vicious killer Victor Crowley.
Victor Crowley is a hideously deformed boy, living in seclusion with his father (Kane Hodder) in an isolated cabin deep in the Louisiana bayou. When a Halloween prank initiated by local kids goes terribly awry, Victor is accidentally killed in a vicious twist of fate.
Years later, brokenhearted college boy Ben (Joel Moore) ditches his friends during a pre-Katrina Mardi Gras in favour of a cheesy ‘Haunted Swamp’ tour. He soon finds himself with an inexperienced tour guide (Perry Shen) on a boat full of misfits including an aspiring porn director and his two starlets, a middle-aged couple, and a young woman with a vendetta against Crowley.
The tour hits trouble in the depths of the swamps and an evening of seemingly innocent fun evolves rapidly into a horrific nightmare, as they come face to face with a monstrous killer.
