Hands up all of you who liked Eli Roth's horror debut Cabin Fever. Ok, so while it may not have been the balls-out blistering horror ride we were promised (albino karate-kids an'all), it was way above the average Hollywood horror fims of recent years, and Roth definitely grabbed our attention as someone to watch in the future.
Now Aintitcoolnews have published news and a few pictures of Roth's second film, Hostel which just recently finished shooting in Prague. The script has been called "the vilest and foulest gore flick made for U.S. release in quite some time" and aintitcool have described the first shot, taking place over a credit sequence of surgical instruments.
A mysterious presence with rubber gloves cleans all the blood off them and then begins spraying the blood, bile and puke off the floor. Pull back to reveal the final shot of this chair (above).
Apparently Hostel is an American attempt to make a film in the same vein as Takashi Miike's Audition. It's not a remake of Miike's skewed relationship film, but does promise to go into some very dark places, and it must be said, on the evidence of the pictures on aintitcoolnews, it looks like Eli Roth is definitely one to watch out for in the future.
For more information, and to see more pictures from the film (including a girl in S&M gear, visit Aintitcoolnews.
Also, Bloody-disgusting have published two other pics from the film, and these can be seen here.
