Masters of Horror website goes live
15th Jun 05
The official website for the Showtime cable network series Masters of Horror (currently filming the middle episodes in Vancouver) has now gone live at www.mastersofhorror.net.
In what sounds like a fan boy's wet dream, the series will run for 13 one-hour parts, with each section to be directed by a 'Master of Horror' director, with such revered genre names as Dario Argento, John Carpenter, John Landis, Roger Corman, Tobe Hooper, Don Coscarelli,Stuart Gordon, George Romero, Joe Dante and Larry Cohen.
Although there are no trailers as yet (don't you hate it when they post a Coming Soon message), there are some well-written biogs of the directors involved and it is well designed.
JC will be shooting a script by internet scribe Drew McWeeney from aintitcool entitled Cigarette Burns and he expects to shoot sometime in July.
Landis is directing Deer Woman, starring Brian Benben, which he co-wrote with his son Max (he's actually shooting around Vancouver's Riverview Mental Institution - a location familiar to those Halloween: Resurrection fans out there - it's where Laurie Strode was committed).
Dario Argento is directing Jenifer, based on the comic book by Bruce Jones and Bernie Wrightson and Coscarelli will helm Incident On and Off a Mountain Road adapted by Coscarelli and Stephen Romano from Joe Lansdale’s short story, which appeared in the same collection as Bubba Ho-Tep.
Mike Garris is set to film Chocolate, adapted from his own short story, whilst Gordon will direct Dreams in the Witch House, adapted from the H.P. Lovecraft classic by Gordon and frequent collaborator Dennis Paoli (huh? - Gordon doing Lovecraft - no way! I don't believe it!).
