Details of the Sympathy For Lady Vengeance DVD

 Even though it recently screened at the London Film Festival, there's still no UK release date announced for Park Chan-Wook's Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. Yet fret not Oldboy fans because Twitchfilm.net have revealed that Park Chan-Wook and the rest of the crew are currently in the process of adding their finishing touches to the upcoming Korean DVD release of Park's final instalment of his trilogy of vengeance.
Having sneaked a look at the film recently in Hong Kong (a small review is posted on the forum - we should have a full reviw of the film shortly), I for one vote SFLV as a very solid accompaniment to Oldboy and Sympathy for Mr Vengeance.
The two-disc DVD will carry both versions of the film: the full colour version, and the one which will gradually turns into black and white (cool!)
There will be three separate commentary tracks: one with director Park Chan-Wook, DP Jung Jung-Hoon and production designer Jo Hwa-Sung; another will feature Park and star Lee Young-Ae, and a final one will be a solo commentary by Film2.0's Kim Young-Jin. There is also talk of recording a commentary with foreign critics, although that is still yet to be confirmed.
Other Extra features, entitled 'Revenge and Mercy' will run over two and half hours worth of material featuring interviews with the director, cast and crew, an extensive making of documentary and deleted scenes.
They'll also add a short film of about 10-20 minutes, featuring young people who desire to become film directors.
Audio will be DD5.1 and DTS, with English and Korean subtitles. It will be released around December time with the boxset, including the entire trilogy, early next year.

Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is the story of a woman, Lee Geum-Ja, who goes to prison for the murder and abduction of a child on behalf of her accomplice Mr. Baek, but whilst there she discovers she has been betrayed. When she is released 13 years later, she tries to take revenge on Baek with the help of her fellow inmates.
