Best case news for Worst Case Scenario
22nd May 04
Yes, another Zombie film has received the greenlight at Cannes, and this one could be worth getting all excited about.
Dutch film production company - Gorehound - have offically signed a 3-6 million Euro deal to shoot their film Worst Case Scenario in Holland later this year. Director Richard Raaphorst (who filmed the title sequence for Beyond Re-animator) shot a promo for the film late last year, which attracted the attention of Brian Yuzna (Re-animator, Society) who agreed to let the production company use his name in a 'Brian Yuzna presents...' manner.
From there the film attracted a lot of Internet attention, including Aintitcoolnews and Fangoria. And now it seems there continued hard work has paid off with funding coming from Hollywood-based producers Jack F. Murphy and Lars Bjorck (Havoc) .
The film is expected to shoot later this year with a Spring 2005 release already pencilled in.
And the best news... Well, if you pop on over to their Official site - www.gorehoundinc.com you can view the current promo reel, purchase a limited edtion DVD (containing additional making-of material) and even sign up to the Gorehound Guerrilas to get a chance to play a zombie-extra in the film (they're aiming for 1000s of extras).
So what are you waiting for? Get over there now and support this exciting new Zombie flick from Holland.
More Information
The original screenplay of the film focuses on the friction between neighboring countries.
In the final of the soccer World Cup and Holland and Germany are going to war. A group of friends try to get away from the nationwide frenzy by traveling to a North Sea island, but they wind up in a situation that is far, far worse.
