The Gathering comes to DVD

 Another good looking movie from Genius Products and the Weinstein company? Fantastic, this one even has some film festival accolades. As usual, here's the full press release for you to check out.
Christina Ricci (Monster) stars as a backpacking drifter traveling through the English countryside where she is struck by a car and befriended by the family who hit her.
Little does she know, she is embarking on a terrifying journey where evil prevails in The Gathering, debuting on DVD January 30, 2007 from Genius Products Inc. and The Weinstein Company.
The film, honored with the Special Jury Prize at the 2003 GĂ©rardmer Film Festival, also stars Ioan Gruffudd (Fantastic Four), Stephen Dillane (The Hours), and Kerry Fox (Intervention). From director Brian Gilbert (Not Without My Daughter), The Gathering also garnered a nomination for the International Fantasy Film Award at the 2003 Fantasporto festival.

Synopsis
While traveling through the English town of Ashby Wake, Cassie (Ricci), an American backpacker takes a turn for the worse after she is involved in a random car accident.
During recovery she is befriended by Simon Kirkman (Dillane), who has been researching embedded images of Christ’s crucifixion in a buried church from the First Century. Cassie begins to have terrifying visions of the townspeople and their deaths and wonders if the town is cursed or are her visions spirits from the unearthed church grasping for life.
