Friday the 13th box set details

 Just when you thought it was safe to go back to Crystal Lake, Paramount Home Video go and spring this baby on us. Lovingly entitled FRIDAY THE 13TH - FROM CRYSTAL LAKE TO MANHATTAN - ULTIMATE EDITION DVD COLLECTION, the 5 disc package will contain two films per disc plus a fifth full of extras (apparently totalling 10 hours in all).
Each movie will be given the widescreen 16x9 enhancement treatment and all will have optional English and Spanish subtitles with closed captioning. On the audio front the first five entries will have English or French mono sound (which is a bit cheap of them) but entries six to eight will have English dolby surround (although the French language version only kicks in with chapter eight).
The bonus features are as follows :
- Cast commentary on FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III by actors Larry Zerner, Paul Kratka, Dana Kimmell and Richard Brooker and author Peter Bracke
- Commentary on FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VI: JASON LIVES by director Tom McLoughlin
- Commentary on FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VII: THE NEW BLOOD by actor Kane Hodder and director John Carl Buechler
- Commentary on FRIDAY THE 13TH PART VIII: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN by director Rob Hedden
- Tales From the Cutting Room” featurette, revealing exclusive deleted scenes and footage for the first time
- The eight-part “The FRIDAY THE 13TH Chronicles” documentary, covering the history and legacy of the films, featuring cast and crew commenting on each film and their appeal to audiences. Interviewees include actors Adrienne King, Amy Steel, Corey Feldman, Kane Hodder, Lar Park Lincoln and Betsy Palmer, FX master Tom Savini and directors Sean Cunningham, Tom McLoughlin, Rob Hedden, Joseph Zito and John Carl Buechler, plus Fango editor Tony Timpone
- The three-part “Secrets Galore Behind the Gore” feature, examining the work of makeup FX creators Tom Savini on the first film and FINAL CHAPTER and John Carl Buechler on PART VII. Includes rare and never-before-seen footage, drawings and stills illustrating the techniques used to create Jason and his murders
- The “Crystal Lake Victims Tell All!” featurette, in which cast and crew from the various films share amusing anecdotes. Includes Corey Feldman, Larry Zerner, Adrienne King, Amy Steel, Lar Park Lincoln and the directors
- The “FRIDAY Artifacts and Collectibles” featurette, a look at props and memorabilia from the movies
- Theatrical trailers from all eight movies except PART VI, which is represented by the teaser trailer.

Accoring to Amazon, the box will retail at $89.98, although they'll be selling it for a princely sum of $62.99 which is around £40 quid or so for us Brits.
The set is to hit the stores on the 5th October. No news as yet on a UK version.
