Wizard for Gore next in line for the remake treatment

 Now then, let's see. How many horror remakes has there been in the last few years?
Off the top of my head we've had Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw, The Amityville Horror, The Fog and House of Wax, not to mention a dozen American-remade J-Horror, such as Ring and Dark Water.
Upcoming remake releases include The Hills Have Eyes, The Wicker Man, The Omen, Evil Dead, The Crazies, Night of the Living Dead (in 3D!), Day of the Dead, Black Christmas and even Herschell Gordon Lewis' Robert Englund-starring Two Thousand Maniacs.
Well, add another Herschell Gordon Lewis remake to that list, as it has just been announced that Open Sky Entertainment are planning a remake of 1970 cult favourite Wizard of Gore.
Currently shooting in LA, Jeremy Kasten is directing the horror film about a master illusionist who is investigated for a string of gruesome murders. Crispin Glover, Kip Pardue, Bijou Phillips, Brad Dourif and Jeffrey Combs star.
Our view - enough of the remakes please. Let's see some original ideas coming out of Tinseltown for once...

In the original, a TV talk-show hostess and her boyfriend investigate a shady magician whom has the ability to hypnotize and control the thoughts of people in order to stage gory on-stage illusions using his powers of mind bending.
