Benicio Del Toro and Clive Owen are the latest names to join the already interstellar cast list for Robert Rodiguez's forthcoming comic-book adaptation of Frank Miller's Sin City.
They join the likes of Bruce Willis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Elijah Wood, Jessica Biel, Josh Hartnett, Kate Bosworth, Nick Stahl, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Brittany Murphy and Carla Gugino, currently filming in Austin, Texas.
Remarkably Rodriguez has resigned from the DGA (Director's Guild of America) so that creator Frank Millar can receive a co-directing credit. This resignation has forced him to abandon his Princess of Mars project altogether. He is also hoping to draft in Quentin Tarantino to direct the final segment as soon as he returns from Cannes.
Entertainment Tonight gave a brief look at the set of the film on Wednesday, a clip which you can download in QuickTime from themoviebox.net. It features stripper Nancy (Jessica Alba) and Hartigan (Bruce Willis) in front of a lot of green-screen.
Frank Miller wrote the graphic novel series that inspired Rodriguez's script of the film. Episodic in structure, the film will comprise three intertwining vignettes (Sin City; That Yellow Bastard; The Big Fat Kill) revolving around a dark set of characters who call the fictional corrupt town home.
